I'm David Coleman, founder of Ascendancy Media and a digital marketing specialist with over 25 years of hands-on experience in SEO, PPC, and AI search optimisation. My career started at eFinancialCareers in 2005, where I managed SEO and a PPC budget of £100,000 per month. During that time I also project managed and wrote the full specifications for an internal dynamic SEO system — automating page optimisation across the entire site with built-in breadcrumb linking and dynamic on-page elements. I also worked on Jobsinthemoney, a finance jobs site eFC had acquired from the founders of Indeed, improving its search rankings through a major algorithm update. A commercial grounding that shaped everything that followed.

From there I moved agency-side, working with some of the world's most recognisable brands: Royal Caribbean, TK Maxx, Hewlett Packard, Barclays, and Microsoft. During that time I also ran the entire Wall Street Journal PPC operation across Europe, delivering an 823% increase in subscriptions in under six months.

I then took in-house roles at Aspire Recruitment and Major Players, before spending a decade at 4MAT — one of the UK's leading recruitment marketing agencies — running campaigns for more than 20 specialist recruiters across finance, engineering, energy, and professional services. I also contributed the SEO architecture for their proprietary careers site platform, Attrax, which was subsequently acquired by SmartRecruiters.
